We met at the University of Buenos Aires, while studying History. Lucas also studied Fine Arts at the National University of the Arts. At first we organized urban tours and guided visits. Then we wrote some books, trained some guides and made a name for ourselves.
Eternautas has been designing itineraries with a cultural profile for the last quarter century. We share a passion for intelligent travel and for conceiving unusual ways of touring a city like Buenos Aires. Our mission is to provide useful information, but also to show the less well-known parts of town, the spots that add real value and give you enough time to stop and really take in what is around. We combine logistics on a human scale with common sense and prefer a good walk through a forgotten neighborhood to running like crazy through typical places full of tourists. We believe that a trip can change your life.
“Ricardo is a kind of beast, a monster of enjoyment. I’m yet to find another person with such an ability to enjoy themselves everywhere. From a punk rock concert to an opera. Everything with the same level of intensity. Ricardo is a shimmering rainbow. Automatically interesting, committed, reliable. He has a good eye and knows how to impart all his wisdom.”
“Lucas is my older brother, despite the fact I’m five years his senior. He’s my B side, the rhythmic base, the perfect complement. An idea man, friend and excellent companion. He possesses a ferocious sense of humor, not for all audiences. He’s focused and organized when all others are not. He brings you back to reality, one way or another. He’s a calming presence and I’m thankful for that. He’s a lot more of a Taurus than I am.”

By approaching themes and urban areas which are often disregarded by the regular tourism industry as being “non-touristic”, Eternautas has managed to establish itself as one of the leading companies in the cultural tourism sector at the local level. Eternautas operates as a provider of services for the corporate market, embassies, public and private institutions, events and conferences, tour operators, national and foreign educational institutions, hotels, and numerous Argentine and foreign individuals who want to engage with our country’s cultural heritage and its historical dimension.
In 2008 Eternautas published its book Buenos Aires tiene historia: Once itinerarios guiados por la ciudad, editions of which are now on their third printing and have been declared to be of Cultural Interest by the Buenos Aires City Legislature. In 2010 another of our books Buenos Aires de Fiesta: Luces y Sombras del Centenario took a critical look at the city such as it stood on Argentina’s first Centennial (1910).
Between 2011 and 2020 we ran the Guided Visits Program at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires. In 2015 Eternautas designed a Guided Visits Program for the Centro Cultural Kirchner (CCK) and was in charge of all institutional visits to this landmark building at the time of its inauguration.
Imbued with this same spirit we designed and ran a grand total of 140 trips to 15 different destinations across Europe, Asia and South America, which adding up their distances took us almost five times around the entire planet.
